The "Summary not found" error occurs mostly due how the content is being copied over from AO3. The entire webpage needs to be copied or the macro will not function correctly. To ensure you're copying correctly, please make be sure of the following:
You are copying only from the AO3 website - the formatting macro will not work with any other sites.
You have 'Entire Work' selected
You are copying the entire web page. You can use the shortcut ctrl + a (or cmd+a for Mac systems), to copy the full page, and then ctrl+c (or cmd+c) to copy.
The "Variable name already exists" error generally occurs when you run the macro twice within the same document. (As an example, this may occur if you run the macro, then delete the contents of the page, copy in a new fic and try to run the macro again.) For every instance that you run the macro, you need to open a fresh document.
This usually happens because the author has used the phrase "Chapter #" (# being the number of the chapter) within the chapter notes, causing the macro to incorrectly delete or move content into the appendix section. Please see the below which is outlined in the Read Me file.
12. In the very rare occurance that a paragraph starts with the word "Chapter" followed by a number, this would be incorrectly identified as a chapter header and would have the Heading 1 style applied to it. If the paragraph is found within a section of Notes or a Summary, it would cause the notes to be cut off at this point in the Appendix. This is an unlikely occurrence, but it's good to be aware of it in case it does happen. If you want to be careful, the best practice is to do a scan through the document and check first and last sentences to make sure the full range of text has been processed correctly.
To fix this, check the author notes of the chapter that has dissapeared, find where the author has used the phrase 'Chapter #', and shorten it to 'Chap#'. You can then run the macro and then afterwards change the text back.
This problem seems to be caused due to an issue with your default template. It can be fixed by deleting the template and forcing Word to create a fresh one.
Close all instances of Word
Navigate to: C:\Users\USER-NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
Move the two .dotm files to your desktop (if there is only one, just move the one)
Re-open Word. It will automatically create a fresh default template.
Try running the macro again and if it works you can safely delete the templates that you've moved to your desktop.
